Description Richard Pryor in WWIIA redneck officer (Stephen Boyd) is put in charge of an all black troops squad. Their mission, secure a crucial hydro dam in Nazi Germany. Their failure would be detrimental to the Allied advance into Germany, and would prolong the war. Most of the GIs only have cleaning and other non-combat experience, but Captain Beau Carter must accomplish the mission with the rag-tag. The men's heroism surprise him.
